I visited here with my family for a treat for my son, the pub was relatively quiet so we sat down and ordered food. Upon receiving our meal, my son’s pasta was bland and tasteless and would not eat. My chicken burger came with 3 small slices of lettuce that looked rotten and well past its date which I returned and did not want them to fix it as it really put me off. Although my meal was removed from the bill, I was shocked that a discount was not offered on the bill for the inconvenience..

Called in without a booking for Sunday lunch. Accommodated us and our dog. Food was hot, fresh tasting and tasty. Very clean environment. Easy parking. Staff attentive and polite. Marston never let's us down. Had Xmas dinner twice now as well, that's how good we think the food and place is. Excellent. Parking: Big enough to accommodate out motorhome

The staff are always very friendly and the food was lovely. All four of us had the carvery. My only issue was that the beef was slightly overcooked and a bit dry.

I ate as a part of a large party, service was good throughout and the food was amazing. I had the carvery, the meat was great, as were the sides and the gravy was perfect, not too thick, not too watery. For dessert I had the praline tart which was so rich, but great and perfect when paired with the ice-cream. A few people in our party did have an issue with their dessert. However, it was rectified immediately and with great professionalism. Therefore, everyone left feeling full and happy. Overall, I found it a great experience and I will definitely be returning.

Visited on 8th December for festive meal with 23 others. Had a great evening, The food was very good and great value. We couldn't fault the staff , each and everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable evening. We do often go on a Sunday for the carvery and it never fails to please. Would highly recommend it. Many thanks to all the staff.

Visited here yesterday for our Christmas get together. Unfortunately it was the worst meal we've ever had. Starters served cold. Main dinner was cold. No 5min check. Plates not cleared away & missing deserts. To be fair the manager did apologise & compensated us but they really need to address the clear issues with the kitchen staff & waiting service. What happened to good old fashioned high standards of service?

Went for curry night. Ordered the Chicken Tikka, was thin and watery. Genuinely had better Indian ready meals. The beer was also flat but was swapped without issue. Staff friendly and helpful.

First time visiting yesterday and we really enjoyed our time. It was very quiet but there was still a cosy atmosphere inside. We ordered our food at the bar, the team were really helpful and freidnly making reccomendations. The food arrived quite quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice quiet location would definitely go back.

The Nags Head is a large pub focusing on food. There is a good choice on the menu prices are similar to a lot of other pubs. There is an excellent choice of beer including two cask conditioned real ales. The beer is a bit more expensive than other pubs in the area. The interior is quite modern with wooden floors and a contemporary look. There is a nice dog friendly area in the pub and a jar of dog biscuits for your beloved hound. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, there's a really nice outside seating area and a large car park. Parking: There is a large car park to the rear of the pub.

Went to have a meal here today. We came a few times before and it was always lovely. Not today. Young waitress behind the bar seemed to be by herself. Had to go to the bar to order. Which took already a long time. I said I wanted macaroni cheese as a main meal but without the BBQ sauce on top and chicken nuggets from the kids menu. For some reason I already expected that the main meal will come with BBQ sauce it did indeed. Then I realised that there are only 3 chicken nuggets on my daughter's plate and wondered why. Because there is a Under 5s menu with less on the plate. I didn't know that but the waitress could have asked which one I mean and she didn't. So both meals went back to the kitchen. 20 mins later another waitress came to bring the meals. My macaroni cheese came without the sauce on but also without the chives and crispy onions but it was stated on the menu. The salad garnish was dry. I ordered two desserts afterwards and the waiter who served at the bar then asked me how our main meals were and I told him what happened. Fair enough he gave me a 20% discount on the desserts but to be quite honest, that's just not enough. We spend 2 hours there for a kids meal and a main meal. Far too long. We also had to wait 20 mins for our drinks to come. 2 soft drinks shouldn't take that long. There used to be a lovely waitress. Not very tall and in her 40s I think. She was great. Didn't see her today. I know its only crispy onions and some chive but 11,50£ for some macaroni with mozzarella on and dry salad is ridiculous. Also my daughters peas looked dry and wrinkley. I understand younger staff might be cheaper for you but it's not always the best option as they don't have any people skills yet. A man in front of me asked a question about chicken wings. The waitress looked at him and said I would need to check with the kitchen first. And starred at him. He then said : Well, could you check then please. Which was totally right of him. She was just hoping he'd say No it's fine, I'll take something else. I know, it's not fine dining but I can still expect some kind of standard I think.
